2010 Diversity Initiative

Project Financial Specialist
Training Resources Group, Inc. (TRG) is a small employee-owned international consulting firm located in Arlington, VA. Key clients include the U.S. Agency for International Development, the State Department, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the World Bank.
Following the recent award of a large international task order funded by the USAID, TRG seeks an experienced, self-motivated individual for our newly created Project Financial Specialist position. The Finance Department is comprised of the Chief Financial Officer, Accounting Manager and four other staff. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop a system for preparing and monitoring project budgets and financial reports
- Develop project budgets, track project costs against budgets, and estimate burn rates
- Prepare pipeline analyses, project accrual estimates, and financial projections
- Review subcontractor invoices; monitor subcontractor compliance with USAID rules and regulations
- Prepare and submit monthly project invoices
- Perform subcontract administration, maintain modifications, and track obligations
- Serve as a liaison between TRG and other partners on the project; coordinate the flow of project financial information
- Interact with the client on financial reporting matters
- Assist in the development of processes and procedures to ensure integration of project financial information with TRG’s corporate systems
Qualification Requirements
- B.A./B.S. in Accounting/Finance or related field
- At least 5 years experience in government contracting environment, including international development experience
- At least 3 years of progressive responsibility for finance and administration of USAID-funded projects or programs.
- Thorough knowledge of USAID contract regulations and procedures
- Experience with Deltek GCS Premier preferred or experience with other job costing accounting systems; Impromptu facility desirable
- Team-oriented, collaborative approach; strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated skill in engaging the cooperation of others
