TRG has designed and facilitated hundreds of strategic planning, organizational problem-solving, and team building interventions. Often these activities are an element of a larger organizational change process – for example, the implementation of a new team-based organizational structure, the conceptualization of a new strategy, or exploration and agreement on new structures and ways of working together. In other cases, these events were focused more specifically on improving a team’s effectiveness in part by raising awareness of its own formal and informal processes of working together, and helping bring about changes in needed skills, organizational culture, basic operating norms, attitudes and behaviors as necessary.
These activities typically involve carrying organizational assessments tailored to the needs of the organization which may include elements such as organization culture, performance, structure, and cross-organization communication. These assessments may be interview-based, online or written questionnaires, and/or focus groups or workshops, and involve only members of the organization or include partners, clients or important stakeholders. Various methods are used to engage organizations with the results of the assessments, and with developing responsive strategies for addressing the issues that come from the assessment. A variety of interventions ranging from large group or small team retreats, skill sessions, and coaching team members and managers are typically a part of these strategies.
