
Omar Khan joined TRG in August 2018. Omar is the Deputy Chief of Party for the USAID Communication, Evidence and Learning (CEL) Project, which works with USAID’s Land, Urban and Local Sustainability offices on promoting evidence-based programming, collaboration within USAID and with USAID’s partners and communicating knowledge across stakeholders. Omar provides CEL with program management and operations leadership, and supports CEL’s Chief of Party, partners and TRG’s finance, HR and contracts teams in providing compliant, timely and cost-efficient results to USAID. Prior to joining TRG, Omar held various project management and business development positions with international development firms in DC and in the private sector. Omar has a Master’s degree in International Development from American University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from the University of North Texas. Born in Germany, Omar has also lived in Switzerland, Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand and Spain. Omar’s professional interests include urban planning in developing countries, and conflict and post-conflict issues and their intersection with development. Omar is an avid traveler and enjoys cooking for friends and family.
