Deputy Project Director, EPIC
Sharon Williams joined TRG in November 2015 as the Operations Manager for the Education Performance Improvement, Communications, and Knowledge (EPIC) project. In this role she manages day to day project operations to ensure activities are delivered on time, within budget, and compliant with USAID rules and regulations. Sharon provides an array of client and team support through a variety of program management functions. Sharon has over ten years of experience in project management and new business development, combined with technical expertise in gender and social inclusion programming. Prior to joining TRG she was a practice director at Development and Training Services, Inc. (dTS), where she managed the firm’s portfolio of gender and social inclusion projects as well as developed proposals to expand the gender practice portfolio. She was responsible for developing gender integration strategies, activities, and indicators and she managed numerous gender assessments of USG projects. Her recent research incudes examining opportunities for USG economic growth and trade programs to address gender-based violence (GBV) within existing programs. Sharon’s long-term field experience includes working for CARE Zimbabwe, where she implemented enterprise development programs for rural women, AIDS-affected households, and commercial sex workers. Her international experience also includes short term assignments in Dominican Republic, Egypt, Guatemala, Honduras, Morocco, and Nicaragua. Sharon holds a MS Degree in Economics from American University. She resides in Northern Virginia with her husband and two kids.
